Chearsley Parish Council

Achievements 2016/17

Improvements to the Village:

  • Improved the War Memorial area
  • Pruned trees on and around the Green
  • Pruned Chestnut tree (yet to be completed)
  • Installed a new Flagpole
  • Repaired and refurbished the two Bus Shelters
  • Installed a new Village Notice Board
  • Installed ‘No Parking’ signs around the Green
  • Commissioned Kerbing works (Dark Lane)

Planning for the future:

  • Organised three HGV surveys in co-operation with Ashendon/Cuddington/Westcott Parish Councils
  • Presented HGV findings to the Transport for Bucks Autumn/Winter Conference
  • Commissioned Bucks CC ‘Feasibility Study’ to investigate new traffic calming measures
  • Consulted with British Telecom regarding removal of Telephone kiosk (at junction of Shupps Lane/Church Lane)
  • Lobbied for repairs to roads approaching Chearsley Village
  • Lobbied for HGV restrictions on roads passing through Chearsley Village
  • Provided support for new Village Hall project


  • Reviewed financial and administrative procedures
  • Appointed a new Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer
